Savannah-Mr. Billy Lewis Womack, Jr., 80, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 at St.
Joseph's Hospital.
The Chatham County native was a charter member and Deacon of Chevis Oaks Baptist
Church. He retired after forty years of service from Union Camp and served his country
in the U.S. Army. He was a charter member of the Ogeechee Farms Fire Department and
was a member of the Chatham County Fire Chiefs Association. He enjoyed gardening
and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Womack of Savannah; sons, Donald L. Womack of
Colorado Springs, CO, Cregg A. Womack of Savannah and Billy M. Womack of Atlanta;
two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation for Mr. Womack will be from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Womack's life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Harrelson and Rev. Alfred Banks officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
