Mrs. Blanche C. Horne
Bloomingdale-Mrs. Blanche C. Horne, 70, died on Friday, May 18, 2007 at her home
surrounded by her family.
Blanche was born in Charleston, SC and lived all of her life in Chatham County. She was
a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School
Teacher, a Lay Speaker and a member of the U.M.W. She was formerly employed with
Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery where she worked for twenty years. She was formerly an
accountant with Fine's, and she was a member of Who's Who American Business
Women as well as former substitute teacher.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Carey W. Horne of Bloomingdale; son and
daughter-in-law, Tommy & Brenda Greenway of Black Creek; two daughters and a
son-in-law, Kathleen G. Davis of Pooler and Sondra L. & John Ray Sikes of Clyo; two
grandchildren, Lindsay Sikes of Clyo and Elizabeth Davis of Pooler; great-grandchild,
Ilayziah Washington; sister, Mary Bennett of Blackshear; Aunt, Rebecca Pullin of
Savannah and three nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Gravel Hill Cemetery.
