Ellabell-Mrs. Blonnie Newman, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mrs. Blonnie was born in Liberty County to the late Wallace & Alice Butler. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Myers. She was a member of the Holy Church of God in Savannah where she taught Sunday School for many years. She retired from Union Camp, enjoyed gardening, crafts, cake decorating, and helped her husband farm.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Raymond Newman; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gloria & Larry Davis, and Melody Covington; grandchildren, Crystal Williford, Ryan Davis, Kelli Davis, Haley Covington, Hannah Covington, Dylan Covington, Brandon Myers, and Brittany Hillman; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Ogeechee Area Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Blonnie.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
