BLOOMINGDALE – Bobby Clay Crenshaw, 80, passed peacefully away at his home on Monday afternoon January 2nd, 2017.

Bobby was born July 28, 1936 to Kurt Crenshaw and Ruth Johnson in Soperton GA. He served in the Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960. In 1961, he met and married the love of his life Joan Evelyn Norwood. A true legend in his field he was a member of the Boilermaker Union Local 26 for 56 years.

He lived an amazing and fulfilling life in giving generously to others through his love, support and commitment to family.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Evelyn Norwood Crenshw, father, Kurt Crenshaw, mother and step-father, Ruth & Harmon Smith, brother Paul Crenshaw and sister, Betty Crenshaw.

He is survived by his children, Terri Gay (Joey), Ann Hughes, and Kay Crenshaw Tatum (Richie Roberts). Five grandchildren, Christopher Day (Lacie), Travis Williams (Heather), Jeffrey Taylor, Harley Hughes, and Mason Hughes. In addition to 5 great grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Raymond Jack, Sadie, and Gabrielle. And, a grand dog, Bogey Blue. His brothers and sisters, William Smith (Glenda), Donnie Smith (Dale), Mary Ann Hill, Jane Seckinger (Kevin), Carolyn Crenshaw Chamlis and a nephew Don Crenshaw.

DaddyBob, we thank you for your unconditional love and are thankful God gave you to us for as long as he did. We will miss your infectious smile and your passion for Nascar dearly.

Visitation will be held at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, 901 US-80, Pooler, GA, Wednesday, 6-8 pm with graveside services Thursday 10 am at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetary.
