Obituary
Faulkville- Mr. Gene Brown, 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Memorial Health. Gene was born October 6, 1948 in Effingham County to Laura E. & Walter Brown, Sr.
Gene was a member of Faulkville Baptist Church, where he served as an usher. He was known as the "Mayor of Faulkville".
He loved his family dearly. Gene loved devoting his time to family, the elderly, and children. He will be missed by both his family and friends. Gene was a true supporter of the Braves and Falcons. He loved Southern Gospel Music and was a devoted follower of "Homeward Bound". He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter, Sr. and Laura Brown, and brother, Paul Brown.
He is survived by his brothers, Walter Brown, Jr. (Yvette), Ronnie (Miriam), David (Donna), and Earl (Pat) Brown; sisters, Violet Drew (Ronald), and Shirley Purvis (Billy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Faulkville Baptist Church.
Burial: Old Powers Baptist Church Cemetery in Eden.
