Obituary

Mrs. Bonnie Lynn Acquilino, 76, of Savannah, Ga was surrounded by her family when she went
home to her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, January, 27, 2024. She was a mother, grandmother,
sister, aunt, and friend that was loved, cherished, and will always be missed.
Bonnie was born on December 16,1947 in Savannah, GA. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Joseph Acquilino; mother and stepfather, Margaret and Earl Rahn; grandparents, Inez
and Clarence Spencer; a brother, Pete Warren; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carmella and
Fiore Acquilino.
She lived in Savannah until she was transferred to Atlanta while working for the American Red
Cross. During this time, she continued earning promotions and became the Director of Donor
Services for the Southeastern region. After 41 years of employment, she retired and returned to
Savannah where she currently resided.
Bonnie loved sitting on her back porch every morning surrounded by her plants and flowers,
drinking her coffee and watching the birds enjoy the birdfeeders. She would always let us now
when the birds returned in the spring – especially the cardinals, yellow finches, and
hummingbirds.
During this time, Bonnie would also read her daily devotions and talk with her sisters and friends
on the phone. She loved the Lord and lived her life reflecting God's teachings. She was a
member of Compassion Christian Church and enjoyed the women's Bible study group as well
as the religious services.
Bonnie loved to travel…anywhere. She visited so many places with friends and family.
However, her favorite trips were those with her daughters and grandchildren. So many
wonderful memories were made during these vacations.
She graduated from Groves High School in1966. She was an exemplary student and was a
member of every club that focused on academic achievement. After graduation, she stayed
involved in the alumni group for her graduating class, always participating in planning reunions
and small group gatherings.
Bonnie enjoyed watching TV series, Hallmark movies, and NCIS – especially Mark Harmon.
Bonnie had a very fulfilling life in so may ways; however, her most precious endeavor was
spoiling her five grandchildren. Her spoiling came in the form of love, attention, caring and
showing much affection. "Nana" was always there for them, and the relationship between her
and her grands was special. They will miss her dearly, even her looks when they needed to
"cool it."
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Hamrick (Alan) and Toni Radcliffe; grandchildren,
Taylor, Karson and Katie Hamrick and Ethan and Gabriel Radcliffe; sisters, Judy Sturgess
(Clyde) and Traci Randall; brothers, Robert, Douglas, and Maurice Rahn; brother-in law,
Leonard Acquilino (Joan); sister-in-law, Roseanne Robey; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Darrell,
Robyn, Kirstin, Chris, Andrew, Brian, and Craig; as well as a number of great nieces, nephews
and cousins.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.  The memorial service to honor and celebrate Bonnie's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
