Bonnie Mae Moore Pabst
Rincon – Bonnie Mae Moore Pabst, born January 11, 1924 in Guy, Arkansas to Gail Glover Moore and Clifford R. Moore, she was delivered at home by her own grandfather Dr. A. J. Moore.
She spent her early years in Guy before moving to New Orleans with her parents and now two brothers, a younger sister would follow some years later. She went to public school and graduated in 1942 from John McDonough High School. She then attended business school and during her time in New Orleans worked in several different office settings. She met the man who would be the love of her lifetime, Verne C. Pabst, and were married on August 2, 1946. Verne and Bonnie lived for many years in New Orleans before his job took them to Overland Park, Kansas in 1961. After believing they might never have children, a son, George was born in December of that year. In 1962 Verne's job took them briefly to Stuttgart, Arkansas where in February of 1963 another son, Karl, was born. They returned later that year to their house in Kansas where they lived until 2009.
Bonnie was a homemaker and a very active volunteer with Nall Avenue Baptist Church. She spent a number of years in the nursery caring for babies of new moms. She also chaired the Benevolent Committee. She was a Life Member of the Adda Chapter #467 Order of the Eastern Star, Lenexa Kansas. In 2009 she and Verne moved to Rincon, Georgia where they would be closer to the lights of their lives, their three grandchildren. She was a member at First Baptist Church, Rincon. Although she wasn't able to attend much due to health issues, she was always a women of very strong faith.
Bonnie passed away on July 13, 2016 quietly at home surrounded by the love of family. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty nine years, Verne.
She will be sadly missed by her son and daughter in law, George C. and Barbara Pabst, Guyton, GA; son Karl E. Pabst, Altoona, PA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Pabst Burleson and husband Weston, Nashville, TN; Carolyn Pabst and Geoffrey Pabst of Guyton. Her brothers Billy Moore, New Orleans, LA; Jack Moore, Austin, TX and a sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Louis Paul Dalfume, West Monroe, LA; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express very special thanks to three wonderful ladies who made Bonnie and Verne's last few years so comfortable for them and all of us; Patricia Scott, Beverly Brinson and Rachel Teel, without you things would have been so much more difficult.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
