Rincon – Bonnie Sue Roberts, 70, passed away November 26, 2022 at Candler Hospital.

The Texas native graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1970, went on to receive her Associate Degree, worked most of her life in accounting and retired from Vantage Products in 2017 after 17 years of service.  She enjoyed knitting, quilting, computer games, gardening, and most of all loved her family.  She volunteered at Old Savannah City Mission, was involved in her church, Westside Christian Church, and Effingham County High School.

She was preceded in death by father, Jack Murphy; mother, Clara Hammontree; step-fathers, Clements Hammontree and D.M. Sanford, Sr.; father-in-law, Donald Roberts; and her mother-in-law, Imogene Roberts.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry D. Roberts, they were high school sweethearts; children, Susan Menges ( husband, Steve Menges), Ronald Roberts ( partner, Melissa Murphy), Carrie Gerstmyer (husband, Chris Gerstmyer); grandchildren, Christopher Gerstmyer (partner, Bethany Ramos), Aaron Warner (fiancé, Liz LaPlant), Courtney Gerstmyer (fiancé, Christopher Johnston), Matthew Warner, Alexandria Roberts, Hailey Roberts, Gavin Roberts; great-grandchildren, Ansleigh Roberts-Williams (Alexandria Roberts); Bryan and Victoria Johnston (Christopher Johnston), Alex and Gabe LaPlant (Liz LaPlant); siblings, Marie Clutts and D.M. Sanford; nieces, Elizabeth Sellars (husband, Michael Sellars), children, Amanda, Bryleigh, Corbin, and Williow Sellars.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the funeral home chapel, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.

Remembrances may be given to Westside Christian Church, 1106 Hwy. 80 East, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
