Bruce William Cole

Rincon - Bruce William Cole, 81, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his residence.

The Ohio native was the son of the late Loren Aldean Cole and Pearl Agnes Johnson Cole. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the U.S.S. Boxer and U.S.S. Bennington. He then served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and was a Instructor Flight Engineer, in the Military Airlift Command. He retired after 21 years of active duty. He then went on to teach at Bradwell Institute for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife, Elisabeth C. Cole of Rincon; sons, Bruce Loren Cole (Andrea) of Ramstein Air Base, Germany, David Andrew Cole of Port Wentworth, Douglas Anthony Cole (Sherrie) of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren, Katharina Cole, Kimbery Cole, Christina Cole, Dennis Cole, William T. Walker, Jr. and Travis Lee Walker; great-grandchildren, Payden Walker, Montana Walker, and Noah Walker; sister, Patricia Fuenderlin of Palo Alto, CA; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Bobby J. Forkner.

Graveside funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beaufort National Cemetery.
