Guyton-Mr. Buddy Hollingsworth, 70, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Buddy was born in Metter to the late Joshua & Annie Bell Hollingsworth. He was a Baptist, retired from Atlanta News Agency, and a member of the Black Creek Golf Club. He was a great golfer who passed on his love for the game by teaching other family members. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a mentor to his nieces and nephews and was very involved in their lives. He had the perfect name because he was a "Buddy" to everyone he met. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Clarence Hollingsworth, Margaret Tippet, Earline Romano, and Ray Hollingsworth.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Hollingsworth; children, Tonya & Stan Strickland, and Darren & Debbie Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Jessi, Craig, Tyler, Rhett, Reid, and Jeanni; five great-grandchildren; sister, Arlita & Larry Gooding; a number of nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Jeannette and Janelle Hollingsworth.
