Obituary

Guyton-Mr. Buddy Lawwill, 83, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Buddy was born in Lexington, KY to the late Hisel and Margaret Lawwill. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Lawwill and a great-granddaughter, Emori Lawson. Mr. Buddy served his country in the United States Army and retired after having earned a Silver Star Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Purple Heart Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with one Silver and three Bronze Service Stars, the Army Commendation Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He also retired from Gulfstream Aerospace.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Tim) Holzkamper; son, Skip (Gena) Lawwill; grandchildren, Shaun, Justin, Bobby and Kristan Holzkamper; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh and Alyssa Holzkamper.
The funeral to honor Mr. Buddy's life was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Anthony Keim of the United States Army officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Sharon Murray. Members of the United States Army served as active pallbearers and members of the Patriot Guard provided an escort to the cemetery. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with full military honors.
