C. Bowers Gnann, Jr.
Springfield- C. Bowers Gnann, Jr., 92, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Effingham Hospital.
The Effingham County native was an active, lifelong member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church. He was a farmer and the founder of Gnann's Fix-it Shop. He was a US Army World War II veteran and was preceded in death by his parents, C. Bowers Gnann, Sr. and Althea Exley Gnann, and sister, Pauline G. Seckinger.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Helen Grovenstein Gnann; three sons, Howard (Gail) Gnann of Aiken, SC, Clarence (Angie) Gnann of Springfield, Charlie Gnann of Springfield; two daughters, Betty Jean (Benny) Ferguson of Springfield and Margaret (Adlai) Platt of Pace, FL; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 am Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
Interment: Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery
