Pooler- Captain Patrick E. Allen USN, (Ret.), 64, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
Patrick was born in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Earl Wilbur Allen & Margaret Huard-Allen. He retired after honorably serving his country in the U.S. Navy for 32 years. He proudly commanded USS Hercules (PHM 2), USS Thomas S Gates (CG 51), and USS Port Royal (CG 73). He later worked for Lockheed Martin for seven years as Business Development Senior Manager for all maritime and energy training. As an avid golfer, he had a life long passion and love for the game of golf; winning one of his highest golf accolades, the Savannah Quarters Member-Guest 2016 Champion title, on Saturday May 28th. In addition, he was president of the Men's Golf Association, and a proud member of the Savannah Quarters Country Club and Army-Navy Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Allen; daughter, Tracey Allen; son, Richard Allen; Casey Allen and grandchildren, Aiden and Aubrey Allen. Siblings, Kathryn Sickels, Betty Jo McGeary, Michael David Allen, and William Edward Allen, as well several very much loved nieces and nephews.
The memorial service to honor Patrick's life will be on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 4 p.m. at the Savannah Quarters Country Club located at 8 Palladian Way in Pooler. Full military honors will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent in Patrick's honor to the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society and youth golf program, The First Tee of Savannah.
