Carl Bowers

Springfield – Carl Bowers, 76, passed away November 30, 2019 at Memorial Health.

The South Carolina native retired from International Paper and was a member of Fellowship Bible Church. He enjoyed beekeeping and loved to help others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Lillian Jarrell Bowers; brother, Rudolph Bowers; twin sister, Carolyn Strickland; and sister, Jeanette Murdaugh.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hodges Bowers; daughter, Terri Bowers of Lena, SC; special great-niece, Kristian Ratliff; brother, Willie Bowers of Hampton, SC; sisters, Barbara Morphy of Columbia, SC, Ruth Walker of Barnwell, SC, Shirley Way of Furman, SC, and Libby Owens of Gaston, SC; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews; his dog, Frog; and his donkey, Sugar Babe.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Turkey Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery.
