Obituary

Carl W. "Buck" Redmond died January 7 th , 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a long period of ill health.

He was born December 5, 1932 in Garden City, GA.

Mr. Redmond was preceded in death by his son, Larry Redmond, his parents, brothers and his sister.

Mr. Redmond is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nell Redmond.  He is also survived by his children, Mike Redmond (Mary) and Pam Metts (Clay) as well as 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and his brother, Frank Redmond.

Buck Redmond was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful servant of the Lord having been a member at the Springfield United Methodist Church for over 55 years.  Buck and Nell were very active in the church, and both served in a number of different capacities over the years.

Mr. Redmond retired from International Paper in March 1992 after 41 years of service.

Mr. Redmond was also a veteran of the United States Army having honorably served in the 1950s.

Buck was a tireless worker who is now resting in eternal peace.  He will be sorely missed by those who survive, but his example of a life well lived will not soon be forgotten.

The family suggests that anyone wishing to make a donation in honor of Mr. Redmond please consider the Springfield United Methodist Church, Saint Jude's Children's Hospital or any charitable organization of your choice.

Visitation will be held at Springfield United Methodist Church on January 11 th , 2022 from 1:30pm to 2:45pm with services to follow at 3:00pm.

Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
