Townsend-Mrs. Carlisle Langley Eitel Floyd, 83, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. Carlisle was born in Savannah to the late Joseph & Frances Eitel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin E. Floyd, Jr.; sisters, Norma Huckaby, Patricia Simmons, Louise Bowdle and Dorothy Gates; and her brother, Joseph B. Eitel, Jr. She was a lifelong Episcopalion, a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Pooler, and later a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Darien, and a member of the Episcopal Women's group. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was a member of the Nifty Nitters. She was a devoted member of the St. Andrews North End Healing Service.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sandra McDonald & Ricky, Alvin E. Floyd, III & Matilda, and Timothy Joseph Floyd; grandchildren, Daniel Pearson & Nikki, Adam Floyd, Zach McDonald, Langley McDonald Crawford & Dustin, Will Floyd and Macey Floyd; great-grandchildren, Emily Pearson, Leigha Crawford, Hailey Crawford and Rylee Crawford; sister, Carol Ragan and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends after the funeral from 4:30 p.m. - until, at the home of Sandy & Ricky McDonald, located at 1190 Pearson Drive N.E. in Townsend/Shellman's Bluff.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the St. Andrews Episcopal Church Alter Guild, P.O. Box 929, Vernon Square, Darien, GA 31305.
