Rincon, GA- Carlton A. Washburn, Jr., 71, died September 18, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA.
The Baltimore, Maryland native was a retired chemical engineer with the State of Maryland Department of the Environment. Carlton was a longtime Chestertown, Maryland community volunteer having been involved with the Optimist Club, coaching softball, 4-H club, and raising and showing horses. He was also a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton A., Sr. and Agnes Dougherty Washburn.
Survivors include his daughters, Alicia Washburn Motley (Lance) and Loretta Claire Washburn; a brother, Brian Washburn, Sr. (Irene); a sister, Sally Ann Mickel (Michael); four grandchildren, Taylor, Nicholas, Aidan, and Reagan Motley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 2-3 pm Monday, September 24, 2018 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 pm Monday, September 24, 2018 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Rincon Cemetery
