Meldrim-Mrs. Carol Lynn Douberly, 68, went to see her savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Mrs. Carol was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Caulie & Nancy King Knight. She was a member of Bloomingdale Alliance Church and was the owner/operator of Carol's Beauty Salon. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Wood, a son, Gerald A. Douberly, Jr. and three brothers, Edward Knight, Ted Knight and Alvin Knight.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald A. Douberly of Meldrim; daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Lamar Castleberry of Meldrim; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph E. & Christina Douberly of Springfield; step-daughters, Karen Spence, Marsha Smith and Deborah Baytais, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, Robert, Taylor, Ryan, Corey, Holly, Dustin, Chris, Brian, Tammy, Scotty and Clint; a number of great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Vicky & George Clanton of Nashville, GA, Dorothy & Robert Lavender of Tifton and Eva Nell Robb of Savannah and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bloomingdale Alliance Church located at 501 West Hwy 80 with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
