Rincon-Mrs. Carole Haynie King, 73, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her home.
Carole was born in Newnan, GA, and raised in Savannah. She was preceded in death by an infant son; Milton Haynie King; father, Marion Augustus (Gus) Haynie; mother, Esther Simpson Haynie Pendland; brother, Emmett Augustus (Buddy) Haynie, and sister, Ina Geraldine (Jerry) Haynie. She was a graduate of H.V. Jenkins High School, class of 1960. In the early part of her life she loved going to Tybee Island Beach, and rock & roll music. She spent time at Pass Time Bowling and Skating Roller Rink on East Victory Drive, which was a favorite week end activity, and where she met her future husband. She was married in 1958, and moved to Effingham County in 1976 where she and her husband raised their four children. Always a dedicated house wife, and mother, at times she worked outside of the home, once being co-owner/operator of King's Auto Parts in Rincon. She had an open door policy at her home for family, friends and strangers. Two loves of hers was "people" and the "Sunday Evening Life Group" A.K.A. Sunday School, meeting at Countryside Baptist Church where she was a member.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Olin D. King; son, Mark (Tonya) King; daughter, Selina (J.D.) Wilson; daughter, Amelia (Bill) Bomar; son, Johnny (Amanda) King; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:45 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Countryside Baptist Church located at 1201 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton, GA, with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church. Burial will follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
