Carolyn Morgan Edwards

Springfield – Carolyn Morgan Edwards, 79, passed away April 30, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

The Effingham County native was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and retired from Effingham Hospital after 34 years. She lived a happy life and fought hard until the end. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Alyne Morgan; husband, George L. Edwards; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Tammy (Henry) Newton and Deborah (Mickey) Hamilton; grandchildren, Cassie, Jason, Henry, Jr., Micky and Misty; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Nellie Boyles; and her beloved dog, Sassy.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

All CDC and social distancing requirements will be in place.
