Obituary
Carolyn Elaine Hyslop, age 76, passed away in home hospice on April 6, 2023. Carol was a resident of Guyton, Georgia.
Carol was born in Vincennes, Indiana on February 16, 1947. The only child of Wesley and Bernadine Hillman who both passed away many years ago, Carol grew up in the small town of Lawrenceville, IL. Carol is survived by her two children, David L. Owens of Savannah, GA, and Tammie Griffin/son-in law Jimmy Griffin, of Guyton, GA. Carol had three grandchildren, Baylie Owens and Michael Griffin of Guyton and Joshua Owens of Ohio, and one great-grandchild Jack, age 2. Carol loved her furry companions deeply, Macy and Sammy. There were many other furry children over the years as rescuing the abandoned, or in need, was a calling for Carol and Larry.
In 1980 Carol married the love of her life, Larry Hyslop of Vincennes, IN. Soon afterwards they moved to Savannah, GA and embarked on a new life. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Larry in 2011.
Carol retired from the accounting department of Savannah Electric in 2005 and was enjoying the life of Georgia country living, yard sales with her daughter, and finding any FREE deal she could get her hands on.
Carol was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Guyton, GA and formerly of Good Sheppard Lutheran Church in Garden City.
Carol will be buried at the Zion Church cemetery. Larry's ashes will be buried with his wife.
The Visitation will be on Saturday, April 15th, from 12:00 p.m. until 2pm at the Zion Lutheran Church followed by the funeral to honor Carolyn's life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
