Springfield – Carolyn Neidlinger Seckinger, 89, passed away April 18, 2022 at Effingham Care Center.
The Effingham County native was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She was a lifeguard for many years at the Effingham County Methodist Campground and was inducted into the Effingham County Athletic Hall of Fame. She served as a Pastor's wife in many churches throughout Georgia and was a homemaker. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlyle Neidlinger and Mary Elizabeth Edwards Neidlinger.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Earl E. Seckinger; sons, James William "Bill" Exley, III (Sue) and Donald Carlyle Exley, Sr. (Suellen); daughters, Vicki Seckinger Ellingson (Mike) and Sherry Thomas (Ron); grandchildren, Jim Exley (Becky), Rhett Exley (Nichole), Chip Exley (Hunter), Emmaline Buckley (Matt), Miles Exley (Amanda Billington), Olivia Hosken (Chris), Cheril Ellingson, Tim Ellingson (Kate), Stephanie Davis (Zak), Patrick Thomas (Kate); great-grandchildren, Natalie, Ally, Emery, Briggs, Lawton, Hudson, Wyatt, Jameson, Mason, Evelyn, and Sophie; brothers, Terrell Neidlinger and Darryl Neidlinger (Babs); and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Springfield United Methodist Church followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m.
Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery.
