Brooklet, GA – Carolyn Edwards Thompson, 82, went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2011.
She was born on February 4, 1929 in Meldrim, GA and was the daughter of Henry Marlow Edwards and Matilda Christian Edwards. She was valedictorian of the 1946 graduating class at Marlow High School and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and the widow of Harry Thompson, Sr. She is survived by one brother, Harry Edwards (Reba) and one sister, Eleanor Helmly. Her children, Bernard Thompson (Dot), Ray Thompson (Mocky), Joe Thompson (Rosemary), Barry Thompson (Kaye), Kathy Wilds (Franklin), Patty Broughton (Kenny), and Candice Carpenter (Ted); 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Friday at Beulah Baptist Church at 700 Beulah Church Road, Pembroke, GA with the Rev. Daniel Bryant officiating and her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens, Bloomingdale, Georgia.
