Cary Lavonne Taylor
Statesboro – Cary Lavonne Taylor, 69, formerly of Effingham County was born October 5, 1947 passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at his residence.
He was employed by Union Camp for 25 years and served in the Army National Guard in Springfield, GA for 26 years before retiring.
He loved children, Nascar racing, fishing, the Atlanta Braves, horseback riding, and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathilde Rollins Taylor and Henry J. Taylor, Sr.; sister, Shirley Taylor Luepkes; and brother Henry J. Taylor, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Delores Olliff Taylor; daughter, Courtney Mathilde Taylor; son, Cary L. Taylor, Jr.; brother, Roy Irvine Taylor; sisters, Louise Taylor Collins (Pat), Jacqueline Taylor Rahn, Carolyn Taylor Lee, and Brenda Taylor Philipp (Don); sister-in-law, Marline Nelson Taylor; brother-in-law, William Luepkes; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
