Garden City, Catherine Farr Calhoun, 104, passed away on July 5, 2022.

This feisty little lady lived 104 years and was spry as ever.  She worked at SH Kress Department store, then Groves High School until her children were graduated and worked at Belk Department Store until she retired.

She kept the staff at The Resort Nursing Home jumping where she spent the last years of her life.  She loved them and they all loved her.  What a blessing!

Survivors include her son, William (Shirley) and daughter, Nancy Hagan (Don), 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Adelaide Waller and Ann Oglesby (Warren), many nieces and nephews. Catherine is predeceased by her parents, Sterling and Floy Farr; husband, W.H. (Howard) Calhoun; and a brother, W.G. (Dub) Farr.

A visitation service will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home with the funeral following at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
