Springfield-Cathy Marie Riley, 58, formerly of Garden City, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Candler Hospital.
Cathy was born in Chatham County to the late Elton H. & Inez C. Riley. She was also preceded in death by her son, Christopher Lee Weatherly. She was the owner/operator of Riley's Tax Service. Cathy loved her family with all of her heart. She loved to be outdoors and fishing was her passion. She enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers and garden.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Shiell; step-children, Dustin (Ashley) Shiell and Brandon (Kendall) Shiell; grandchildren, Kylie, Bryson, Baylor, Kelsey and Cody Shiell; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Kathy) Riley; niece, Kelly (Avant) Dantis; great-nieces and nephews, Emerson Dantis, Ava Dantis, Rebecca Riley and Trey Miles.
The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.
The funeral to honor Cathy's life will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Spier officiating. Pallbearers will be Matthew Marshall, Matthew Jarrell, Kevin Traywick, Jimmy Diamond, Trey Miles, Brandon Shiell and Dustin Kersey. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
