Mr. Cecil ‘Skip’ D. Aldrich, 80, of Pooler passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 7, 2026 at home with his family. Cecil was born on August 1, 1945, to Cecil and Emma Dell Aldrich.
Cecil was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Aldrich, his daughters Cynthia Brennan (Shel) and Tracy West, his grandchildren Katherine Chamberlain (Tommy), Caroline Stanford (Jon), Brendan West, Colby Brennan and by his great grandchildren Lainey Kate and Emmy Lou Chamberlain.
Cecil served honorably in the United States Army Security Agency for 4 years in unit 319 USASA as a Specialist 5th Class. During this time, he made many lifelong bonds, lived mostly in Germany, and traveled to 11 different countries before being honorably discharged. After serving his country, he became employed by Southern Bell/AT&T. He held many job titles during his career, and was elected to serve as Union Vice President many years before retiring after 38 years.
Cecil, or Pepa as known to his family, was a simple man and was not a fan of attention or fuss. He was content hunting, fishing, working in his garage, watching television, but most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He could spend hours talking on the phone with his army, neighborhood, or phone company buddies, just laughing and telling stories. He would do the same with his daughters and grandchildren. When he was not with them, he enjoyed scrolling through pictures of them on his phone and smiling. Cecil was a funny man, and could make anyone laugh and always tried. He was a big man, a strong man, a protector, but to his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, he was just a huge teddy bear. They all loved Pepa and will forever cherish his kind soul!
Cecil will truly be missed, and he knew he was loved and he loved back. He left quite a legacy in his wife, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He knows they will be strong and close and that they will continue to care and love one another. Cecil may be gone, but certainly not forgotten!
Cecil wished to be cremated, and asked for no service to be held on his behalf.
