Mr. Charles Alton Brannen, Sr.
"Jumbo"
Savannah-Mr. Charles Alton Brannen, Sr., 76, died on Monday, October 29, 2007 at
Hospice Savannah with his family at his side.
The Chatham County native was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale
where he was a Deacon, taught the Ben Stewart Sunday School Class and enjoyed
attending the Joy Club. He retired from Estes Truck Line, enjoyed playing with his dog
"Rufus" and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Josephine "Jo" Brannen of Savannah; children,
Debbie & Raymond Mills of Pooler and Charles & Tami Brannen of Savannah;
grandchildren, Bridget & Mike Ortiz, Brandi Mills, Justin Mills and Tiffani Morgan
Brannen; great-granddaughter, Kalee Mills Ortiz and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale. Mr. Brannen
will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery on
Little Neck Road.
