Brooklet-Mr. Charles R. Bray, 87, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the
Effingham Extended Care Facility.
Mr. Bray was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by his wife, Adele Williams
Bray. He graduated from Commercial High School in Savannah and attended the
University of Georgia. He retired from Strachan Shipping Company after thirty eight
years of service. He attended Old Fellowship Baptist Church and the Senior Mens
Sunday School Class. He loved old movies and the Atlanta Braves and was an avid dog
lover. He served his country in the 15th Army Air Corp during World War II in the
Italian Campaign and was a member of the 464th Heavy Bombardment Group.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike & Gloria Bray of Brooklet, Bill
Bray of Key West, FL and Gary Bray of Bangkok, Thailand; two grandchildren, Ryan
Bray and Cassie Bray, both of Brooklet and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Bonaventure Cemetery.
