Rincon – Mr. Charles Fredrick "Freddie" Pye, 70, passed away at his home on January 14, 2025 ending his battle with cancer.

Freddie was born in Savannah, Georgia to Ruby Pye (Minors) and James L. Pye, Sr.  He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, John O. Minors, wife, Penney McAteer, sister, Vivian Singley, and brother, Jimmy Cason.

Freddie attended Effingham County High School.  He worked faithfully for the Cities of Springfield and Rincon before retiring to care for his wife, Penney.

He is survived by his loving son, Jeffery (Justin) Pye, brother, James "Lenny" (Beth) Pye, sister, Ruby "Kitty" Ford, adopted sister, Dana, and his much-loved fur babies "Race Bug" and "Tootsie Roll".
