Obituary

Charles Hobart Harrelson died on Friday, November 29, 2019 at his son's home.  He was born on 12/4/1930 to Willie D and Lucy McKethan Harrelson in Faulkville , GA.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Sandra Kengla Harrelson and their son, Billy Harrelson. Also preceded in death by son-in-law, Darnell Griffin and two brothers, Langford and Thomas Harrelson.  He is survived by two sons, Chuck Harrelson and Bro.Kenny (Sherry) Harrelson. Two daughters Dee Anna Griffin and Ellen (Jake) Patrick. Honorary daughter, Ruby Sapp. Grandchildren, James Harrelson, Stacee(Normer) Adams, Tiffany (Michael) Kramer, Jake (Shannon) Patrick, Brianna (Nicholas) Jackson, Stephanie Harrelson, Kristina (Adam) Boerger, Destini, Jasmine & Caleb Harrelson.  Great Grandchildren, Badge and Rowe Adams, Michaela and Cooper Kramer, Breeleigh, Bailey, Hailey and Kailey Patrick, Carson and Callaway Boerger, and another one on the way.   He also has several nieces and nephews.   He graduated from Marlow Highschool. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He  was a member and Deacon of Central Baptist Church where he was truly devoted to every service , workday and function. Taking up golf in his 70's, he loved playing with his christian brothers, Dan, Gary, Gene, Larry and Lonnie. He was a retired employee of Union Camp(box plant), working 43 ½ years.   His passion was working with wood and building cabinets. He loved living in Bloomingdale, visiting with friends, riding in the golf cart with Louise and Gene White and delivering the News paper to them.  Most of all he loved his family and cherished them all.   Special thanks to Ray Pruitt for spending time and taking daddy places. He was a good friend. Special thanks to all the hospice nurses and staff for their wonderful care they gave to daddy.  The visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.  The funeral to honor Charles' life will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.  Brother Kenny Harrelson will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Michael Kramer, Jacob Patrick, Adam Boerger, Ray Pruitt, Johnny Bryan, Kenny Souls.  Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.  Remembrances may be given to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 4010 Old Louisville Road, Garden City, GA  31408.
