Mr. Charles Benjamin Harris "Inkie", 89, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his home.
Inkie will be missed by his sons, Jeff Harris (Tina) and Chip Harris (DeJuana); daughter, Deborah Pastush; grandchildren, Kevin, Alana, Regan, Charles (Jordan), Benjamin and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Callan and Austin, as well as several nieces, nephews, and his beloved cat, Duncan.
He was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Harris; parents, Charles and Pauline Harris; sisters, Judith Lynn and Isabell-Hinely-Powell, and his beloved dog Kolby.
He retired from the National Guard in Savannah and was the owner/operator of Harris TV located at the corner of Montgomery Crossroads and White Bluff Road in Savannah. Inkie was a member of South Newington Baptist Church in Bloomingdale. He was a bass fisherman, avid model airplane flyer and loved any, and all planes. He also built his own 1 person airplane. He enjoyed reading historical war books. He loved his family, lived next door to both of his sons, and loved to share stories with all of them.
The visitation will be on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral to honor Inkie's life will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
The graveside funeral and burial will be on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens located at 315 Greenwich Road in Savannah.
