Charles Edgar Jones
Guyton – Charles Edgar Jones, 74, passed away September 18, 2017 at Memorial Health.
The Wayne County native served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Seaboard Coastline in May of 1983. He was a Shriner, Mason, loved camping, fishing, and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Marlow Jones and Lorene Long Jones; brothers, Leonard, Eugene, Kenny, and Herschel Jones; son, Charles Gregory Jones; and wife, Lavaughn Smith Jones.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Gary Pierce of Guyton; granddaughters, Kristen and Sarah Pierce; sisters, Christine Lewis and Vel James; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Hazel Jones; a number of nieces and nephews; and his special companion, Pam Anderson.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Old Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Jesup.
The family would like to thank the Memorial Health M.I.C.U. Unit, Doctors, and Nurses.
