Mr. Charles A. Layton, 92, of Garden City, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

He was born in Charleston, SC to the late William P. & Ethel H. Layton.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lucille T. Layton, and four brothers, James, Robert, Raymond, and Willard Layton.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth, was a Mason, and served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He was self-employed in the construction business.

Survivors include his children, Cindy & Bennie Harper, Brad & Mary Layton; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather at the graveside for the funeral and burial at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens located at 315 Greenwich Road in Savannah.  Rev. Paul Mongin will officiate.  Honorary pallbearers will be Landis Paul and Andres Guzman.
