Springfield – Charles Ray Oglesby, 71, passed away March 4, 2024 at Effingham Hospital.

The Chatham County native retired from construction, he was a master carpenter, loved woodworking, working in his yard, and sitting on his porch drinking coffee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Oglesby, Sr. and Josephine Kittrell; sister, Carolyn Harris; and brother, John David Oglesby, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Oglesby; children, Karen King, Lori Raleigh, Charles Ray Oglesby, Jr., and Katherine Kilgore; step-children, Cheryl Bartlett, Glenna Kemp, and Frances Lowe; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Rowland, Nancy Shaffer, Faye Strickland, and Patricia Holmes.

No formal services will be held.
