Mr. Charles T. Ruiz, 83, of Pooler, GA, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Savannah, GA and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Theadora Konstandeles Hege.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Charlie Ruiz, Jr., and three brothers, George "Buddy" Hege, David Hege, and William Anthony "Butch" Ruiz.  He was a 1955 graduate of Savannah High School.  He served in the Georgia Air National Guard and retired from the Savannah Sugar Refinery.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth where he served on the Bereavement Committee and as an usher.  He will be remembered as a rabid GA Bulldog fan.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn E. Ruiz; sons, Michael A. Ruiz (Patty), John Williams (Stephanie), and Joe Williams; daughter-in-law, Julie Ruiz; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Hege; sisters, Gail Humbert and Debbie Ruiz; several nieces and nephews, and cousins, Barbara Strickland and Bubba Weston.

The family will accept friends at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth from 10 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3 ^rd , with the memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Paul Mongin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth, 402 Pinehurst Place, Port Wentworth, GA  31407 or to the charity of your choice.
