Ret. MSgt Charles Edwin Sandefur

Pooler-Ret. MSgt Charles Edwin Sandefur, 85, passed away at his home on Sunday, June
1, 2008 with his wife of 66 years and other family in attendance.

Born in Crawford County, Georgia in 1922, Mr. Sandefur was an honors graduate of
Crawford High School in Roberta, GA. He served 27 years in the Army and Air Force.
After retirement from active duty military service, Sgt. Sandefur held a management
position with Steel Erectors Inc. In later retirement, he and his wife, Edna Clifton
Sandefur, built their dream home on 17 manicured acres where they enjoyed their family
and grandchildren for over 30 years. Sgt. Sanderfur was predeceased by a daughter,
Brenda Joyce Sandefur, his parents, John James and Vera Lou Sandefur, two brothers,
Milton Sandefur and James Sandefur and one sister, Lou Ellen Daniels.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Clifton Sandefur; a daughter, Dale Sandefur Price; two
sons, Bruce Earl Sandefur and Glenn Ellis Sandefur; Bruce's wife, Melanie; four
granddaughters, Kimberly Dianne Keenan, Brooke Erin Sandefur, Alana Rose Sandefur
and Katie Nicole Sandefur; grandson, Joshua Haddon Sandefur; great-granddaughter,
Courtney Michelle Leigh Keenan; two step-granddaughters, Lindsey Victoria Deen &
Morgan Nicole Deen. Additional survivors include four sisters, Annie Mae Slade of Ft.
Walton Beach, FL, Vivian (Steve) Phillips of Green Acres, FL; Eunice Tatum of
Fayetteville, GA and Mary Pearl (George) Jackson of Little Rock, AR; three brothers,
David Sandefur and Eugene Sandefur, both of Macon, GA and Raymond (Dorothy)
Sandefur of Byron, GA; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Sandefur of Gray, GA and Lillian
(Mallory) Wilder of Yulee, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons
Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdaay, June 4, 2008 in the chapel of the funeral home with
burial to follow at Guyton Cemetery.
