Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Saxon, 61, of Eden, Georgia, went to see his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 14, 2022.

Charlie was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by his father, David Eugene Saxon, and a brother, David Saxon.  He had been employed at Kemira and later retired from Gulfstream.  He was a devout Christian and was a member of Powers Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing the guitar, and writing songs.  While he enjoyed cooking, he and his wife used it as a ministry which helped a lot of people.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Saxon; son and daughter-in-law, John and Becky Saxon; daughter and son-in-law, Jessi and Johnny Hodges; grandchildren, Chaz, Anderson, Jordan and Colin; mother, Ruby Georgia Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Lisa Saxon, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

The celebration of Charlie's life will be on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Powers Baptist Church located at 1104 U.S. Hwy. 80 in Eden, GA.

He would not want those that he left behind to mourn his loss, but to rejoice because he is now at home in Heaven with family and friends.
