Guyton – Charles E. Wood, 83, passed away August 11, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center.

The Mississippi native was a very proud retired veteran from the U.S. Air Force and was a retired carpenter.  He loved his country, the flag, and was very patriotic.  He enjoyed planting and tending his garden, as well as fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollis and Cora Wood; daughter, Glenda Wood Hawk; siblings, Vetra, Walala, Lawrence, L.C., and James Ray.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Wood; daughter, Tammey Wood Usry (Danny); sons, Joseph Wood (Julie), Steven Wood (Barbara), and Tony Ray Wood (Rosemarie); step-daughter, Susan Jennings (Wesley); 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Wood Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
