SAVANNAH: Mr. Charlie G. Alford, 71, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Candler Hospital.
A native of Statesboro, Charlie retired from Culver Rug Co and was a member of the Zerubbabel Lodge #15 F&AM. He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corp. Charlie was an avid fisherman and was a very loving, caring and special person that touched the hearts of many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carleen Alford; children, Kevin (Lori) Alford and Tracy (Rose) Alford; grandsons, Nick and Alex; brother, James (Linda) Alford; step-sisters, Bonnie (Harry) Seckinger, Terri (Curtis) Andrews and Donna Crosby; several nieces and nephews and long time fishing partner, Jim White.
Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road
