Charlie Gnann Seckinger
Springfield – Charlie Gnann Seckinger, 62, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his residence.
The Effingham County native graduated from Groves High School in 1968 and Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in 1972. He served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam, retired from Dixie Crystals, and was an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Pauline Gnann Seckinger; and daughter, Katie Seckinger.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Edwards Seckinger; sons, Paul Seckinger and Justin Seckinger; granddaughter, Morgan Seckinger "Mogo"; siblings, Bill (Marjorie) Seckinger, Jimmy (Cindy) Seckinger, Susanne (Dale) Oglesby, Mary (Tim) Filipowski, and Georgiana (David) Steese; uncles and aunts, Bowers and Helen Gnann, Rev. Earl and Carolyn Seckinger; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. in the chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Tim Harriott, Hoody Kenneth Parton, Guy Rahn, Pharis Johnson, Kyle Reiser, and Alan Ingram.
Inurnment will follow in Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
