Savannah-Christiane McCarty Heilman was called to Heaven on May 15, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her friends and family and watching her beloved Kansas City Royals play ball. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Delton McCarty and LaFoye Johnston Burkhalter. She is survived by her husband, William Heilman; children, Brandi Miller Pruitt, Colin Miller, and wife Brittni, Corey Heilman, and wife, Courtney; grandchildren, Carson Lopez, Zack Pruitt, Asher Pruitt, Keegan Little, Koehn Miller, and Kennedi Miller; two sisters, Pam Smith, and Maureen McCarty. Chris was born in Winnsboro, LA on May 27, 1950. She graduated from Neville High School in Monroe, LA in 1968, and received her Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and MA from Webster University. She was a teacher/administrator for Webster University at various military bases helping our servicemen complete additional education. Chris loved her gardening, and was always acquiring new plants and flowers to attract her birds, and butterflies which gave her endless hours of pleasure. "Nonnie", as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, loved them with all her heart, and so wanted to see them all grow up. She will be missed by all people whose lives she touched. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church located at 11500 Middleground Road in Savannah, GA 31419 with Father Gabe Cummings officiating.
