Christine Morris Burgess

Rincon – Christine Morris Burgess, 80, passed away August 25, 2020 at her residence.

The Metter native was a member of Effingham Baptist Church and was a retired office manager. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Willa Mae Smith Morris; granddaughter, Erika Ulmer.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Burgess; children, Jimmy (Dorothy) Cave and Danny (Kathy) Bolton; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Mack) Silva; step-daughters, Paige Burgess and Marci (Berry) Brasington; grandchildren, Jamie Cave, Melissa Wylen, David Wylen, Blythe Dennison, Jon-Ryan Ulmer, Joshua Bolton, and Matthew Durrence; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, William L. Morris; sisters, Luree Bonner, Shirley Moore, Linda O'Neal, and Angela Forshee; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Effingham Baptist Church with funeral services following at 11 a.m. All CDC guidelines will be in place and will limit the number of people in the building at any given time.

Interment will be in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
