Springfield – Christy Hinely Morgan, 95, passed away December 16, 2022 at Effingham Extended Care.

She was born in Springfield on September 23, 1927, daughter of Denton and Annie Hinely. She was a homemaker and member of Springfield United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women for many years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, crocheting, arranging flowers, and sewing. She was an active patron of the Springfield Library and loved reading.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Isiah Morgan, and her siblings, Edward Hinely, Rewis "Cooter" Hinely, and Dixie Zeigler.

Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda M. Pierce; granddaughter, Haley Johnson; grandson Zachary Pierce; great-granddaughter, Sydney Johnson; brother-in-law, Calvin Zeigler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 12 noon Monday, December 19, 2022 at Springfield Cemetery.
