Springfield – Clara B. Freyermuth, 102, passed away June 26, 2024 at Effingham Care Center.

The Effingham County native was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church.  She was also a member of the Clyo Homemakers Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed flowers, cooking, and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Claude Arnsdorff and Hattie Gnann; and her husband, George M. Freyermuth.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Freyermuth (Sophie); granddaughters, Tara Aiken (Tim), Greta Coleman (Johnny), and Serena Harden (Adam); great-grandchildren, Cassidy Aiken, Jaci Coleman, John Daniel Coleman, Hunter Aiken, Shelby Aiken, and Ross Harden; several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
