POOLER: Mrs. Clara Mae Nixon, 83, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at Hospice Savannah.
Clara was born in Broxton, GA to the late Charlie J. Polk and Racheal Pitts. She was a wonderful, giving and unselfish mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger and her warm smile will be remembered by all who loved her. She was an avid fisherman, made many beautiful quilts and she loved to tell stories of her past. Clara attended the Living Faith Church of God
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James Amos Nixon; daughters, Ellen Boyett (Carl) of Faulkville, Dianne Nixon of Smyrna, GA. and Sibyl Finnegan of Richmond Hill; son, Tim Nixon (Natalie) of North Augusta, SC; brother, Hezekiah Polk of Pooler; sister, Ruby Nichols (Steve) of Okatie, SC; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Greenwich Cemetery.
