Obituary

Savannah – Mr. Clarence Neil Breckenridge, 73, died on June 18 after a long illness, and was under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Neil was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 5, 1937. He grew up in Virginia and graduated from Hermitage High School in Richmond, class of 1955. He was a US Air Force veteran and served in Japan and Hawaii before eventually settling in Savannah. He retired in 2003 from CSX Railroad after 32 years of service and was a career member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Lucille Neidlinger Breckenridge of Savannah; wife, Joan Breckenridge; and brothers, Ferrell and Reid Breckenridge.
He is survived by one son, John Breckenridge of Portland, Oregon; sister, Jane Breckenridge Henshaw formerly of Richmond, Virginia and presently in Rincon, Ga.; grandchildren, Hannah, Claire, Maggie and Chip; along with three step-children, Roger Twedt, William Sims, and Kim Kellogg.
There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Ennis Cemetery in Bloomingdale, Ga.
