Rincon – Clarence Edward Morgan, 75, passed away January 5, 2022 at his residence.
The Effingham County native retired from Effingham County Board of Education after 30 years of coaching and teaching. He has been employed at Effingham County Recreation Sports and Management since 1973 where he is the Director. He played many years on the B & B Softball team, was part of the Josh Reddick Foundation and very instrumental in the Effingham Navigators. He served on various Committees and received many awards with G.R.P.A. including Most Distinguished Professional in 2017 and was the recipient of the Golden Eagle Award from the Coastal Georgia Council of Boy Scouts of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie W. Morgan, Nora Lee Hodges Morgan Pitts, and Robert Pitts.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Evans Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, April and Walt Lawson; grandsons, "Papa's Little Men", Tyler Wilson Lawson and Morgan James Lawson; 2 brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Clarence E. Morgan Gym. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
