Rincon – Claudette Tyson Murdock Thomas, 85, passed away August 22, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family.

The Bibb County native was a longtime member of Rincon United Methodist Church and current member of the Church at Godley Station.  She formerly worked at ACE Hardware and then Curiosity Shoppe.  She was a longtime volunteer at Candler Hospital in the gift shop, loved flowers, and an avid Bunko player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Tyson and Hannah Moon Tyson; her first husband, Ed Murdock; and son, Ken Murdock.

Survivors include her husband, Wiley O. Thomas; son, Michael A. Murdock (Nanci); grandchildren, Rusty Filingim, Evan Murdock; Jordan Hay (Jessica), and Caroline Hay; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Shelby, Abigail, and Avery; brother, Jerry Tyson (Laverne); step-children, Detra Thomas (Annette Blanchard), Donna Horton (Van), and Dr. Darren Thomas (Mikki); step-grandchildren, Chase Thomas (Abby), Caden Thomas (Lindsey), Claire Thomas, and Vania Hagan (Joey Sharpley); step-great-grandchildren, Caleb Hagan, McKenzi Hagan, and Rhyley Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
