Mr. Clayton Pickens Rutland

Garden City, GA-Mr. Clayton Pickens "C.P." Rutland, 89, died on Thursday, November
22, 2007 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Mr. Rutland was born in Williston, SC and had lived in Garden City for a number of
years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and retired from
Barrett Oil Company after 30 years of service. Mr. Rutland was preceded in death by his
wife, Inez W. Rutland.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail & Eddie Shuman and Kay & Len
Jordan, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Kim Jordan Melton, Valerie Ann McLaughlin,
Lori Kay Jordan, Christopher Clayton Shuman and Cynthia Lynn Jordan;
great-grandchildren, Bryson Andrew McLaughlin and Brayden Tyler McLaughlin; sister,
Dorothy Woodward of Douglas and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. on Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Garden City. Mr. Rutland will
lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the Church. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
